Penerapan Teori Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) dalam Pembelajaran Mendalam
Abstract
Strategi deep learning (pembelajaran mendalam) dipilih untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran paripurna. Penelitian ini merupakan studi literatur yang menguraikan teori Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) dan relevansinya untuk mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran mendalam. Kajian literatur tentang ELM menunjukkan bahwa siswa tidak secara otomatis melakukan pemrosesan mendalam ketika menerima informasi. Karena itu, guru harus mencitakan suasana dan mendorong siswa menuju jalur utama (central route). Dalam tahapan awal, pheriperal route (jalur pinggir) tetap diperlukan, terutama ketika siswa belum fokus dan enggan untuk berfikir kritis. Guru perlu membangun kedekatan emosional dan mengajak siswa terlibat dalam pembelajaran.Inti strategi deep learning menekankan pentingnya siswa dalam memperoleh pembelajaran bermakna. Siswa harus mengetahui, memahami dan memproleh kesan yang mendalam tentang materi yang diterima. Proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan penuh makna dan secara riang. Proses pembelajaran bukan lagi sekedar rutinitas memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan melimpah tanpa disertai pemahaman.
