Retraction and Corrections
Pawiyatan: Journal of Teacher Professional Education is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. In cases where errors, ethical issues, or misconduct are identified in published articles, the journal follows the guidelines and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as appropriate.
Corrections
A correction (erratum or corrigendum) will be issued when an article contains errors that do not invalidate the research findings but may affect the clarity, accuracy, or interpretation of the information presented. Corrections may include, but are not limited to:
-
Errors in author names, affiliations, or contact information
-
Minor data or calculation errors that do not alter the main conclusions
-
Errors in figures, tables, or references
Corrections will be clearly identified, linked to the original article, and published promptly to ensure transparency.
Retractions
A retraction will be issued when the published article is found to be seriously flawed or unethical, such that its findings or conclusions are unreliable. Grounds for retraction include, but are not limited to:
-
Evidence of plagiarism
-
Data fabrication or falsification
-
Duplicate or redundant publication
-
Serious methodological errors
-
Unethical research practices
-
Undisclosed conflicts of interest that compromise the integrity of the work
Retracted articles will remain accessible on the journal website to maintain the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as Retracted, with a retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction.
Expressions of Concern
An expression of concern may be issued when there is inconclusive evidence of research or publication misconduct, or when an investigation is ongoing. This notice will alert readers to potential issues while maintaining transparency during the review process.
