Journal Owners
Pawiyatan : Jurnal Pendidikan Profesi Guru (Journal of Teacher Professional Education), the official academic journal of the Teacher Professional Education Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training, UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan, aims to encourage and promote the development of teacher competencies (pedagogical, professional, personal, and social), the development of learning plans, the development of learning approaches, models, methods, and strategies, the development of learning media, and the development of learning evaluations. The editor-in-chief is scientifically independent and cannot be pressured or manipulated in any way regarding the journal's scientific content and operations. However, the editor-in-chief has obligations to the journal owner and the editorial board. Please see Editorial Independence for more information. The owner is responsible for appointing and dismissing editors. The owner must provide editors with a contract upon their appointment that clearly states their rights and obligations, authorities, general terms of appointment, and conflict resolution mechanisms. Editorial performance can be assessed using mutually agreed-upon metrics, including but not limited to readership, manuscript submission and handling times, and various journal metrics. Appointments are made formally by attaching a dean's decree. Editors may only dismiss editors for substantial reasons, such as scientific misconduct, disagreement with the journal's long-term editorial direction, inadequate performance based on agreed-upon performance metrics, or inappropriate behavior inconsistent with a position of trust.
