Publication Schedule

Jurnal Hukum Islam (JHI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Sharia, Universitas Islam Negeri K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan, Indonesia. The journal publishes two issues annually, in June and December.

Each issue features original scholarly articles addressing contemporary Islamic law and related legal issues in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and the global context. The journal welcomes contributions employing doctrinal, comparative, socio-legal, empirical, and interdisciplinary approaches.

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Hukum Islam follows a biannual publication schedule:

  • June Issue: Published annually in June.

  • December Issue: Published annually in December.

Submission and Editorial Process

Manuscripts may be submitted throughout the year through the journal's online submission system. Submissions are not restricted to specific submission windows. However, the inclusion of a manuscript in a particular issue depends on the completion of the editorial assessment, peer-review process, required revisions, final acceptance, and production schedule.

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's aims and scope, originality, academic quality, and compliance with submission requirements. Manuscripts considered suitable are sent for peer review. Acceptance and publication decisions are made by the editorial team based on scholarly merit, reviewer recommendations, and the journal's editorial policies.

Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication in a particular issue. Manuscripts that have not completed the editorial and production process by the relevant issue's production deadline may be considered for a subsequent issue.

Online Publication and Open Access

Jurnal Hukum Islam provides immediate open access to its published content, supporting the free dissemination of scholarly knowledge and facilitating global access to research in Islamic legal studies.

The journal publishes accepted articles in accordance with its editorial and production schedule. Any changes to the publication schedule will be communicated through the journal's official website.
