Post-Publication Discussion

The Indonesian Journal of Islamic Elementary Education (IJIEE) recognizes that scholarly communication and evaluation continue beyond the publication of an article. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers, authors, researchers, lecturers, teachers, and other members of the academic community to respond to, question, critique, or clarify articles that have been published.

IJIEE welcomes relevant, constructive, and evidence-based post-publication discussions that contribute to the advancement of knowledge, particularly in English language education and related fields within the journal’s focus and scope.

Forms of Discussion

  1. Comments or Letters to the Editor: Academic comments, questions, or critiques concerning articles published in IJIEE.
  2. Author Responses: Responses from authors to substantive comments or criticisms regarding their published articles.
  3. Methodological and Scholarly Critiques: Discussions concerning research design, instruments, data analysis, interpretation of findings, study limitations, and the consistency of conclusions with the evidence presented.
  4. Clarifications or Corrections: Reports of potential errors in facts, references, quotations, data, or author information in published articles.
  5. Publication Integrity Concerns: Information or evidence that raises questions about research reliability, research ethics, authorship, conflicts of interest, or plagiarism.

How to Submit

Comments or responses should be submitted to the IJIEE editorial team through [email protected], using the subject line “Post-Publication Discussion.” Submissions should include:

  1. The sender’s full name, institutional affiliation, and email address.
  2. The title of the article, author name(s), and DOI or article URL.
  3. A clear and specific description of the comment, question, or criticism.
  4. Academic justification supported by relevant evidence or references.
  5. A statement disclosing any potential conflicts of interest.

Conduct and Evaluation Criteria

Comments must be professional, objective, respectful, and focused on scholarly content. IJIEE does not consider comments containing personal attacks, discriminatory or offensive language, defamatory statements, unsupported allegations, or material unrelated to the article under discussion.

Handling Process

  1. The editor reviews submitted comments for completeness, relevance, and academic merit.
  2. Comments that meet the journal’s requirements may be forwarded to the corresponding author, who will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond.
  3. The editor may consult reviewers or relevant experts when the issues raised require specialized academic or methodological assessment.
  4. Accepted comments and author responses may be published as related contributions and linked to the original article.
  5. If the discussion reveals potential errors or concerns regarding research integrity, IJIEE will address them in accordance with its Corrections and Retractions Policy and Allegations of Research Misconduct Policy.

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding the publication of comments and responses. Publication of a comment does not imply that IJIEE endorses the views expressed in it.
