This research begins with the idea that the motivation that exists in students has something to do with how these students make habits in their studies. This was further strengthened by the impact of the corona virus (Covid-19) outbreak which changed the learning system to online, and caused students to have to adapt to new study habits. Therefore, a study was conducted that aims to see how big the relationship between study habits and students' learning motivation during the online learning process in class VIII SMP IT Cahaya Hati Bukittinggi. The data obtained were sourced from observations, documentation, and questionnaires. The population is 37 people and all of them are used as samples (population research). The research instrument used a questionnaire with a Likert Scale model. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between study habits and students' learning motivation, with the correlation value ( = 0.649), the significance of using the t-test was obtained tcount = 5.047 > ttable = 1.691 at the real level = 5%. So it can be concluded that study habits will determine how much motivation students have in participating in online mathematics learning, consistent good study habits even though learning is carried out online will be a solution to maintain student motivation in participating in online mathematics learning.
