Editorial Independence

Lack of Interference With Editorial Decisions

Editorial independence is of utmost importance, and the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Universitas Islam Negeri K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan, as the journal owner, does not interfere with editorial decisions. The relationship between the Journal Editor-in-Chief and the Owner in this journal adopts the World Association of Medical Editors’ (WAME) and the Committee on Publication Ethics’ (COPE) definitions of editorial freedom, which hold that Editors-in-Chief have full authority over the entire editorial content of their journal and the timing of publication of that content.

All articles published by Circle: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika are peer-reviewed and assessed by our independent editorial board, and administrative staff of the Mathematics Education Study Program and the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Universitas Islam Negeri K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan, are not involved in decisions to accept or reject manuscripts. When making an editorial decision, we expect the editorial team to base their judgment strictly upon:

  • The suitability and expertise of selected peer reviewers;

  • The adequacy of reviewer comments and the quality of the author's response;

  • The overall scientific, methodological, and pedagogical quality of the paper.

All members of our journal are committed to the mission of making mathematics education research and scientific findings open and accessible as widely and rapidly as possible.

Editors, Reviewers, and Editorial Staff as Authors

Editorial staff, peer reviewers, or editors shall not be involved in processing or deciding upon their own academic work. Any submissions authored or co-authored by editorial staff, reviewers, or editors will be handled through an independent editorial track and assigned to at least two independent external reviewers. Final publication decisions will be made by other Editorial Board Members who have no conflict of interest with the author(s).
