Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa berdasarkan Gender Kelas VIII.6 MTs N 1 Padang Pariaman

The purpose of this research is to find out how the mathematical problem solving ability of female students and male students of class VIII.6 MTsN 1 Padang Pariaman. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The subjects in the study were all students of class VIII.6 MTsN Padang Pariaman totaling 25 people consisting of 14 female students and 11 male students. The data collection technique is a problem- solving ability test in the form of description questions. The data analysis technique is the procedure of analyzing work results, presenting data, describing and drawing conclusions. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the problem solving ability of female students was in the medium category with an average of 61.111, with the distribution being for the high category as many as 3 people with a percentage (25%), and in the medium category as many as 9 people with a percentage (75%). The problem-solving ability of male students is in the medium category with an average of 58,666, with the distribution for the high category as many as 3 people with a percentage (30%), the medium category as many as 6 students with a percentage (60%) and the low category as much as 1 people with a percentage (10%).
