Eksplorasi Etnomatematika terhadap Konsep Geometri pada Rumah Joglo Pati

Culture can determine how students view in understanding something, including in understanding a mathematical material. If a mathematical material is so far from their cultural life, of course the mathematical material is difficult to understand. Therefore, it is necessary to have a learning approach that is able to connect mathematics with culture called Ethnomathematics. The concept of ethnomathematics makes a big contribution to the improvement of mathematics learning. Students can learn mathematics by visiting the outside world and interacting with the local culture which is the object of ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics objects are cultural objects that contain mathematical concepts in a particular society, one of them is the Joglo Pati House. One of the mathematical concepts contained in the Joglo Pati House is the concept of geometry. This research aims to determine the various geometric concepts contained in the Joglo Pati House. The method in this research uses a qualitative research type with an ethnographic research design. Sources of data in this research using data from observations, documentation and interviews. The results of the research describe that there are geometric concepts in the Pati Joglo House, including: lines, angles, plane shapes (square, rectangle, trapezoid, triangle), Pythagorean theorem, geometric shapes (cuboid), congruence, and geometric transformations (translation, reflection, rotation). The geometric concepts contained in the Joglo Pati House can be used as a source of student learning that can make it easier for students to learn and understand geometric concepts.
