Abstract

At the pre-operational stage, children begin to show clear thinking processes and children begin to recognize symbols, signs, language, and images. The concept of numbers becomes very important because it is a mathematical concept that must be mastered by children, because it will be the basis for mastering further mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of learning to recognize the concept of numbers in early childhood at PAUD Bugenvil, Kebulen, West Pekalongan and the obstacles. This researcher uses a qualitative research approach. The method used is the method of observation, interview method, and method of documentation. Data analysis technique used in this research is data analysis technique with Milles and Huberman analysis model. The results showed that the implementation of learning to recognize the concept of numbers in early childhood at PAUD Bugenvil Kebulen by using number plate media, pom-pom media, and picture number card media. With these media children are able to recognize the concept of numbers, although there are still 3 children who are not optimal in developing it, but there are 5 children whose ability to recognize the concept of numbers develops with the application of these media. Although there are still obstacles in the implementation of learning to recognize the concept of numbers.
