Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Philanthropy (JTAP) are expected to comply with the following writing requirements to ensure consistency, clarity, and academic quality:

1. Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The length of the manuscript is between 5,000-7,000 words, excluding references and appendices.
  • Text must be written using the Cambria font, size 12, with 1 line spacing.
  • Standard margins: 2.5 cm (top, bottom, left, right).
  • Tables, figures, and appendices must be numbered consecutively and placed close to their point of reference.

2. Article Structure

Manuscripts should follow the structure below:

  • Title: Concise (max 15 words), sentence case.
  • Abstract: English and Indonesian (150–250 words each).
  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords, alphabetical order, separated by commas.
  • Introduction: Background, problem, objectives, significance and literature review.
  • Methods: Research design, participants/data, instruments, and procedures.
  • Results and Discussion: Clear findings and theoretical implications.
  • Conclusion: Summary and recommendations.
  • Acknowledgements: (optional) Institutional or funding support.
  • References: APA Style 7th Edition.

3. Citation Style

  • JTAP adopts the American Psychological Association (APA) Style, latest edition.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference manager tools (Mendeley or Zotero).

4. Language

  • Manuscripts may be written in English.
  • English manuscripts should ideally undergo professional language proofreading.

5. Originality

  • Manuscripts must be original and not currently under review elsewhere.
  • Similarity index must be a maximum 20% as determined by plagiarism detection software.
