Publication Ethic

This is the statement of ethics for Jurnal Penelitian published by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. This statement was adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and covers the code of ethics for chief editor, editorial board members, reviewers and authors.

Duties of Authors

  1. It is the duty to ensure that only new and original work is submitted.
  2. Replicating content previously published in other journals is strictly prohibited.
  3. Articles under review or consideration by the journal cannot be concurrently submitted to other journals.
  4. Publication of their work elsewhere is permissible only following an official rejection from the journal or upon formal acceptance of their request to withdraw the work.
  5. Immediate notification of any data inaccuracies in their published work to the Chief Editor or the publisher is required, allowing for corrections or article retractions if necessary.
  6. Authors should contribute significantly to their research and take responsibility for any shortcomings in their work.

Duties of Reviewers

  1. Before accepting a review assignment, reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  2. Reviewers can decline to assess a submission if they have a conflict of interest or lack the necessary expertise.
  3. Review all submissions impartially, equitably, and professionally.
  4. Report any instances of ethical misconduct encountered during the review process to the Chief Editor for appropriate action.
  5. Verify the originality of each submission and remain vigilant for any signs of plagiarism or redundant publication.
  6. Reviewers must not discuss the content of a submission without obtaining prior permission.
  7. Adhere to the designated timeline for the review process. Requests for extensions should be directed to the Chief Editor and are subject to their discretion.

Duties of Editorial Board Members

  1. Actively contribute to the development and the greater good of the journal.
  2. Act as ambassadors for the journal.
  3. Continuously support and promote the journal.
  4. Review any work assigned to them.

Duties of Chief Editor

  1. Evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely on their intellectual merit.
  2. Ensure confidentiality of manuscripts and not disclose any information regarding manuscripts to anyone other than the people involved in the publishing process.
  3. Has the responsibility to decide when and which articles are to be published.
  4. Actively seek the views of board members, reviewers and authors on how to improve/ increase the image and visibility of the journal.
  5. Give clear instructions to potential contributors on the submission process and what is expected of the authors.
  6. Ensure appropriate reviewers are selected/ identified for the reviewing process.
