Abstract

The producer's commitment to maximizing the benefit is realized through adherence to Islamic economic values and principles in each production chain. The main value of Islam in production is avoiding things that are forbidden in transactions and carrying out recommended Islamic values. This research is a literature study by examining journals related to the Application of Islamic Economic Principles and Traditional Markets. The results of this study indicate that the traditional market is not much different from the modern market, the only difference is the way of transacting. Traditional markets are a miniature of Indonesia's multicultural culture, as well as a real example of the diversity of the Indonesian nation. In Islam, the market aims to achieve the welfare of the people of the world and the hereafter (al-Falah) through honest and fair transactions. Therefore, Islam has several principles that distinguish it from other economic systems. In Indonesia itself, there are already many traders from various regions who apply sharia economic principles in their trading activities in traditional markets. However, there are still a few traders who are completely unfamiliar with Islamic economic principles or even know them but are still reluctant to start implementing them. The role of the government in this case is very necessary to provide education about Islamic economic principles for traders, especially in traditional markets in order to realize an economy based on justice and honesty.
