Abstract

Combining culture and religion is one of the identities of preachers in conveying religious messages. In the process of preaching, Sunan Kudus uses the same method of preaching, namely using a spiritual and cultural approach by giving orders in the form of prohibiting the slaughter of cows on Eid al-Adha. This article aims to understand cultural and religious acculturation in the sacrificial tradition and to find out how to maintain the existence of this culture. The research method used in this paper is library research, which collects literature related to cultural and religious acculturation. The results of this research show that Sunan Kudus carried out an acculturation in the prohibition of slaughtering cows on Eid al-Adha and to ensure that this tradition can survive by means of cultural experience and cultural knowledge.
