Abstract

Abstract

Background and Objectives: The study of a region is very interesting, especially in the field of hadith scholarship, as a form of review of hadith historiography. This study examines Egypt as a center for the development of hadith, focusing on the Mamluk Dynasty, which is considered to have made significant contributions after the fall of Baghdad by the Mongol army. It will also explain the works, trends in manhaj, and influential hadith figures in Egypt during that era. Methodology: This study is a library research with descriptive analysis. The researcher also utilized literature from relevant books and journals.

Main Results: The results of this study can be understood as the post-fall of Baghdad as a form of brilliance ahead, with the role of the Mamluk dynasty's struggle in Ain Jalut against the Mongols. Contribution: This study of hadith historiography and region identified many hadith scholars in Egypt, including Ibn Hajar, Sakhawi, as-Suyuti, and works from this period, including Fath Bari and Fath al-Mughiht bi Syarhi Alfiyyat al-Hadis. The method of writing works during this period tended to omit the sanad of hadith in order to summarize them, and focused on studying the texts and other sources. The legacy left behind during this period is the continuation of works such as the Syarah (Syrah) and the Takhrij (Tahrir) which have their own methods developed from previous methods. Conclusion: This research demonstrates that the study of the area of hadith studies will identify scholars and their contributions, both in the form of legacy works such as hadith books.
